Bourne Textile Services  Having been approached directly by the employer Langwith Builders and their design team worked with the employers operations team to produce a design for an extension to an existing laundry which would allow all operations to be carried out on a single site rather than on a number of sites in Bourne. The scheme more than doubled the size of the existing facility and included the provision of a new boiler house complex and re-ordering of mains supplies. The overall cost for this project was almost £1.6 million.

PX Cables  An innovative scheme to improve the existing sub-soil rather than remove it and replace it with imported fill material saw Langwith Builders selected for this design and build scheme. The adoption of the method proposed saved the employer over £300,000 and proved to be entirely successful. The project was completed on time and within budget and included the construction of a balancing pond to deal with surface water discharge. The overall cost for this project was almost £1.2 million.

Gutteridge Limited  Langwith Builders were awarded this design and build scheme after a two stage tendering process. The requirement for the building to be suitable to allow the use of overhead travelling cranes required an innovative foundation solution. Working with their engineering partner Langwith Builders used a mixture of stone and concrete vibro-displacement columns to achieve a satisfactory solution at a fraction of the cost of traditional piling. The facility provided not only factory floor space and storage but was also the head office of the business and became the sole operating centre. Since the initial building was completed Langwith Builders have returned to site to construct further extensions. The overall cost for this project was almost £1.1 million.
